HEAT Signs Chris Johnson

MIAMI, FL – The Miami HEAT announced today that they have signed forward Chris Johnson. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Johnson, a three-year NBA veteran, has appeared in 71 regular season games (one start) averaging 2.9 points, 1.9 rebounds and 8.4 minutes while shooting 56.2 percent from the field with four different NBA teams, splitting time with Portland, Boston, New Orleans and Minnesota. Additionally, he appeared in four postseason games with the Trail Blazers totaling four points, five rebounds and two blocks in 19 minutes of action while hitting his only shot from the field and connecting on both free throw attempts. 

The LSU alum spent the 2013-14 season in China, playing with the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions, appearing in 29 games and averaged 20.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.00 blocks, 1.4 assists, 1.21 steals and 33.1 minutes while shooting 58.8 percent from the field and 76.1 percent from the foul line. He grabbed a season-high 20 rebounds vs. Jiangsu on December 11 and posted a 32-point, 16-rebound game vs. TianJin on January 8.

The HEAT’s roster now stands at 20.
